The Halloween House

WOOHOO!!

Look what I made for Halloween!
When I say 'I' I mean that my son and I started it, he got bored after we glued the first paper on the box and I finished it.

It's made from a cereal box covered in black construction paper. The windows are made with this super cheap ( and by cheap I mean pathetic) 'origami' paper I bought at the dollar store. But really, should I complain? It WAS bought at the dollar store! hee hee
Anyway, I love paper. PAPER PAPER PAPER. So it doesnt really matter what the quality is or where I got it!

Back to the house: Because the window paper is so thin, it worked perfectly for making it glow. A flashlight tucked inside the house gives it the perfect eerie glow to show off the witch, cat, ghost and crow figures. The last pic was taken to show how they glow at night. The ghost shows up better when the flashlights actually have working batteries in them.

My son loves it! He put his own toy spider and snake on it and he sprinkled some 'dead' leaves all over it - we will be adding more to the empty looking graveyard-and then we put cobwebs on it. The fence is made by cutting strips of cardstock and gluing it together. It was so fun because the messier the fence was, the more realistic it is!
I didn't decorate the back because I thought it was pointless. After all, its just a construction paper house!
Although, I might glue some of that yellow paper to it to make some basic windows... hmmm

Ok, now to make another one!
